TIME TRAVELER
Story:
The time traveler is a historian who knows that the technology of time machines has become more reliable and has more potential, so he intends to use this more advanced technology to his advantage. He knows that there are still mysteries to some historical events, and he does not have sufficient or has inaccurate information for these events. He intends to use the time machine to go to the times of these events so he can acquire accurate information on the events of those times to record in history textbooks.
Objective for each level:
The time traveler has a mission in his current time period, and has to travel to certain time periods, collect certain things from each time period and/or complete certain tasks in each level in order to collect certain information to fulfill his main objective in his present time. There is no combat.
The Time Machine can be the start and/or endpoint for these levels.
Levels:
Each of the levels is completely separate, but they fit together through the use of the time machine, and only the time traveler and time machine assets will be reused.
The look and feel for these levels will be cartoonish.
The Old West (Miguel Traverso):
The time traveler comes in the midst of a bank robbery, and winds up having to pursue the bank robber, due to the robber in question being a part of historical events. The robber also stole a piece of equipment required to operate the time machine.
The player quickly loses the bank robber, so they must climb a cliff and activate a portable hang glider that they have in their possession to catch up with the bank robber. There could be obstacles (falling rocks, unstable ledges, aggressive animals) to block or potentially end the player’s climb. Once the player catches the bank robber, they can return to their time machine.
Medieval Castle (Mathias Lindroth):
The time traveler enters an old castle filled with suits of armor, giant portraits, and secret passages to find and retrieve Merlin’s wand, in order to prove that magic existed in the medieval time period.
The player must find the wand in the castle, and then encounters Merlin. The time traveler requests to go through Merlin’s maze in order to chart its layout. They must navigate the maze to return to the time machine.
Underground Headquarters (Ian Vega):
The time traveler unexpectedly finds themselves in an underground base of unknown purposes, without their time machine. There might have been a navigational error in the time machine, or someone misdirected the machine to this location. The time traveler must find his way back to the time machine.
The player must navigate various platforms and corridors, while avoiding dangerous machines and obstacles to return to the time machine.
Prehistoric (Dinosaurs) (Keith Zevallos):
The time traveler wishes to find out once and for all how dinosaurs went extinct. They arrive in a lush, verdant jungle, at a time shortly before dinosaurs were said to have been wiped out.
The player must survive for a certain period of time, avoiding getting trampled and/or eaten by large dinosaurs in order to discover the cause of the death of the dinosaurs and win the level.
