Underground Headquarters Build Three

ADDITIONS:

-Modified the walls and big door to have a bump diffuse texture, adding more detail.

-Implemented checkpoint functionality, permitting player to return to a certain location if they lose all of their health

-Added code to make the player lose all their health if they fall into the ravine (and return to a checkpoint already reached)

-Added Crushers and functionality (the player dies if they are hit by a crusher, and they return to a checkpoint)

-Created keycards and terminals (for bridge and big door), along with a hover-based containment unit to hold bridge in place, and drops the bridge so the player can cross when keycard is used.

-Created Damaged Platform Functionality (breaking shortly after a player steps on them, and returning after the player loses all health)

-->The second keycard (near the damaged platforms and big door) can be collected, but is returned to its original position (and out of a player’s inventory) should the player die before using the keycard. The player will have to collect it again.

-Added numerous player hints in various places and situations (including introduction hints)

-Sounds and Music have been added (These are the final sounds for the game)

-Created a game menu (slightly glitchy, but will be addressed)

-Created Winning Sequence (that leads back to the menu)

-Added other bump diffuse textures to some objects to add a feeling of depth.

-Modified some terrain texture sizes to be less stretched (particularly on cavern walls).

-Baked the level’s lights to improve efficiency and frame rate (due to the nature of this level having no directional light, no shadows seem to be possible)

-Changed the screen size of the game to a web-based format (960x600) for increased performance.

PLANNED ADDITIONS:

-Modify Third Person Controller Functions to prevent certain errors (Walking on the sides of terrain walls) (May not be possible, so looking for work-around)

-Bugfix the menu’s several glitches (Investigating)

-Find a way to adjust the location of the text hints (preferably above the character’s head) (Investigating)

-General bugfixing (In Progress)

-Implement Time Traveler character model (Low Priority, due to lack of resources)

-Additional polishes to terrain (more stalagmites, more viewable areas, etc.) (Low Priority)

-Final Decorations (Low Priority)
